It's Monday! Whatcha Reading? │ August 24th

The last week has been pretty much the worst as far as reading goes. I haven't really read anything since I finished Storm Front by Jim Butcher, and I finished that on the 17th. I've tried to read. But nothing has really captured my attention. I've started like seven different books, but I wasn't in the mood to read any of them! I think I'm reading The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly right now, but I'm less than fifty pages in so I might change my mind again. Le sigh

So, since my last post, here are things I've read!

fuelled by fiction, fueled by fiction, deceptions, kelley armstrong, you're never weird on the internet, felicia day, jim butcher, storm front, dresden files, harry dresden, the wicked and the divine, it's monday what are you reading

As I expected, Deceptions was awesome (5/5). It did not disappoint. The only disappointing thing is that now I have to wait forever for the next one to come out! And I WANT IT NOW.  From there I moved on to Felicia Day's memoir, You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost). Again, another winner! I loved it (5/5). Felicia is hilarious and wonderful and her memoir is definitely worth a read! It reflects on her time growing up, her anxiety, her addiction to World of Warcraft, and the rise of her career. What a lady! After that I read Storm Front by Jim Butcher, the first book in the Dresden Files (3.5/5). This series is about Harry Dresden, the Wizard/P.I. I enjoyed the world building and the fantasy and stuff, but I'm not the biggest detective novel reader. And that's basically what this is. Just with urban fantasy stuff thrown in. I did enjoy it and will likely continue the series, though (for a few books anyway at least. There are like a million). I've given up on Armada for now. I had been listening to the audiobook, but I just haven't been feeling it for a while now. I only listen to audiobooks in the car, and lately I've just wanted to jam to some sweet tunes. It's nothing against Armada--I still plan on reading/listening to it! At some point. Now is just not that point.
fuelled by fiction, fueled by fiction, the sacred lies of minnow bly, stephanie oakes, it's monday what are you reading
Also with my weird reading mood, I have no idea what I want to read next. I don't even know if I want to read what I am reading! And, like I said, at the moment I'm pretty sure that's The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes. The first few pages really drew me in, and it hasn't lost my attention yet. I'm still not really in a read-y mood (boo) but I think I can bust outta this slump with this book! Hopefully. Blerg.

It's Monday--what are YOU reading? Do you have any reading-slump busting tips? Have you read any books lately that really grabbed you right from the first sentence?
