1st Year in the Blogosphere

I began blogging as part of my New Years resolution in 2013. I had resolved to review every book I read that year. I originally posted these reviews solely on Goodreads. After a while I decided to start a blog in order to host these reviews. At the time, this was an arbitrary decision. I was exclusively posting reviews and cared little about readers, features, or design. What I was doing was hardly blogging at all!

In July of this year I began blogging in earnest. I gave my blog a complete facelift! Not only so, but I committed myself to it. While book reviews have remained my main focus, I have branched out in how I do this and how frequently I post them.

For the past few months, this has been a fun and exciting new challenge. And challenge it certainly is! I don’t mean to sound negative by using that word—but it hasn’t come easily. I have had to put in a lot of time and effort, and often there has been little to no visible reward other than personal satisfaction (and sometimes not even that). As I learn and continue on, it is becoming more and more rewarding as people actually read my posts and I get more involved in the blogging community.

If you’ve been following along, you’ll have noticed that I have begun participating in book tours, memes, and have added more features! You may have also noticed, however, that some of these things may be sort of half-baked and/or inconsistent… I am still learning, after all!

Join me in my blogging adventure as I spend the year getting my footing. Along the way I will post things I’ve learned, and tips and tricks I’ve picked up.
